SAFE TRAVEL TIPS

During your trip, take steps to stay SAFE :

  • Keep your travel plans, including accommodation details, to yourself.

  • Avoid 'seedier' areas of the cities you visit, especially at night.

  • Ask your hotel manager for advice on 'safe' versus 'unsafe' local areas.

  • As a general rule, city streets that include children and women suggest the area is safe for families.

  • Carry with you at all times the contact details of the US embassy.

  • Keep a photocopy of your passport and all other important documents in a safe place.

  • Use ATMs during the day, when there are people around.

  • Try to rely on CASH more than credit cards and travelers cheques.

  • If you are mugged, don't fight back. It is better to lose a few dollars and a wristwatch than get injured.

  • Avoid incidents such as fights, riots or civil disturbances at all times.

TOTAL COST  - The tour package cost not including international round-trip airfare from a US Airport to Accra is $3333US  per person. Cost based on double occupancy. Travelers who prefer to room SOLO will pay a supplemental fee of $300US.

Tour Includes:

  • Transportation – Ground transportation in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Local "tro tro," praga,  or ground transportation for short inner city travel. 

  • Guiding Services – A trained licensed driver and Ghanaian tour company, PRIDE OF GHANA TOURS, will accompany the group for the majority of the tour. 

  • Accommodations – Nightly lodging between eco-resorts & the best available hotels along our journey. Note: This is an Eco-Tour with an emphasis on conservation, education, traveler responsibility and active community participation. Please consider some conveniences may not be available. 

  • Traditional Ghanaian Naming Ceremony & Gifting  

  • African Fitting & Custom West African Garb by seasoned Ghanaian Female & Male Tailors. 

  • Meals – Full continental breakfast daily. Eight diners and three lunches provided during tour. Lunch is to be purchased on your own (or bring along with you) throughout the journey. Participants are encouraged to purchase roadside snacks and "chop" from street vendors. Dinner OYO in Cape Coast & Busua.  

  • Entry fees – All attraction entry fees are included.

DEPOSIT   - There is a $350 per person deposit needed to save your space. Deposits and payments can be made easily by using secure Eventbrite , Square or Paypal platforms. Deposit Deadline is NOVEMBER 2023. All deposits are refundable up to 45 days prior to departure (JULY 2024). 

 

The full payment for each traveler is due by, JUNE 17th 2024. All monies paid are non-refundable after this date. Cancellations made prior to JUNE 17th 2024 are subject to the cancellation fees.

VISAS -  The package cost does not include your VISA entry fee. All travelers must apply for a Ghanaian Visa to enter the country. The visa processing fee is approx. $60. Additional instructions will be provided to each traveler to assist with the process.

Per COVID-19, here are the new requirements for ENTRY into Ghana. Please read thoroughly as there are additional cost ($150USD) for testing and now specific health protocols before admission into the country. Get the details HERE.

In addition, travelers are required to fill out Ghana's Online Health Declaration Form. 

​

VACCINATIONS  -Please check with your physician. A yellow fever shot is required to enter the country Ghana unless traveler applies to be exempt. Yellow fever and other precautionary vaccinations are administered by your local Traveler's Health Clinic near you for about $300USD. Also, check your private health insurance plan.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is recommended by not required. Travel safe! Its your life! Try Allianz Travel Insurance if looking for a reputable company.
